Held at Emerson’s Solution Centre on Thursday 14 November 2019 by Emerson’s Women in STEM group.

We experienced how the latest technologies can support the transformation of the oil and gas industry using virtual reality, 3D printing and the latest digital tools used in offshore applications.

It was a rare privilege to be allowed into the Additive Manufacturing processing unit and to witness metal 3D printing in action and take part in a plant site visit with virtual reality and discover how digitalisation brings added safety to energy workers on sites.

The automation and technological developments have also facilitated the early detection of wear and tear in energy facilities and the ability to quickly remedy issues as soon as, or even before, they arise for optimal operational efficiency and cost impact.
