Women in Energy, Asia (WIEA) established in 2014 with the objective to give female professionals in the energy sector a platform to grow their industry network and foster their careers through mentoring, training, role-modelling and professional development.
The increasing success of sponsored breakfast talks, and the impressive response to a talk by Melody Meyer, then President, Chevron Exploration & Production, Asia Pacific, convinced us to move this initiative to the next level and officially register WIEA as a society.
Events
The WIEA hosts a number of events throughout the year, such as networking events, site visits and technical talks. Additionally, we celebrate International Women’s Day every year with a panel discussion.
Mentorship
Our mentoring lunch series is conducted in small groups led by industry leaders. These industry leaders donate their time to support members in career progression and work life balance through sharing their own stories, away from the office.
